Former Assemblyman Arnaldo A. Ferraro was elected Chairman of the Kings County Republican Party at its Convention on September 30, 2015.
With the participation of many Republicans representing two opposing factions of the Republican Party in Brooklyn, the long, arduous and at times vociferous proceedings, concluded with an interesting twist.
Incumbent GOP Chairman, Craig Eaton, announced his surprise nomination of Arnaldo A. Ferraro for Brooklyn GOP County Chair, which was favorably received by the majority of the people attending.
Another interesting factor in this outcome is that Dr. Ferraro had been included in the opposing slate as the Executive Vice-Chair. This is a clear indication that Arnaldo A. Ferraro is recognized by all Republicans for his dedication to the party and his outstanding qualifications.
Born in Italy, he completed his education and studied law. He came to the USA in 1961, and became a U.S. citizen in July 1964. In America, he continued his education and became an educator and college instructor. Arnaldo A. Ferraro was elected to the NYS Assembly in 1984, and later appointed Coordinator of Election Day Operations of the NYC Board of Elections. While pursuing his career, he remained very active in politics, becoming Republican District Leader, and Vice-Chairman of the Kings County Republican Party. In 1993, he founded what is known today as one of the most active political organizations in Brooklyn, the Fiorello LaGuardia Republican Organization, and remains its Chairman to this day.
Arnaldo A. Ferraro stressed in his acceptance speech the necessity of all Republicans in Brooklyn to work together for the growth and betterment of the Republican Party in Brooklyn. Dr. Ferraro’s election to GOP chair enhances the election of Republican candidates, especially the upcoming elections of Lucretia Regina-Potter, the Republican candidate for the New York State Assembly in the 46th Assembly District and Jeff Ferretti, Republican candidate for the New York State Senate in 19th Senatorial District, on November 3, 2015.
